Georgia Parparousi

Georgia Parparousi was born in Patras in 1967. She studied at the School of Music Studies, Faculty of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where she earned a degree in Musicology and Music Pedagogy. She holds a PhD from the Department of Sociology at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. Additionally, she has obtained a comprehensive set of diplomas in advanced music theory (Fugue, Counterpoint, Orchestration, Harmony, and Music Theory). She has taught at various levels of public education: primary, secondary (including the Music School of Patras), and post-secondary (IEK). She has also taught at the Patras Municipal Conservatory and in private conservatories. Her work as a trainer includes contributing to induction programmes for music teachers (PE16) through the Patras Regional Training Centres, as well as professional development initiatives for educators in Aesthetic Education under the Unified Revised Curriculum for primary schools (OEPEK, 2010-2011). She has collaborated with the Pedagogical Institute as a peer reviewer for educational materials aimed at the sixth year of primary school, and with the Hellenic Open University as a reviewer for the textbook Sound and Acoustics in Music, produced for the new postgraduate programme “Acoustic Design - Multimedia” in the HOU School of Applied Arts. Since 1998, she has served as a member of the Special Teaching Staff for Music at the Department of Educational Sciences and Early Childhood Education at the University of Patras.
